All entries will be taken as acceptance of the rules; all competitors are advised to read
and observe the rules below.
Horse and pony classes
Entries can be made in advance (at a reduced rate) by sending a postal entry or you can
enter on the day at the Secretary’s lorry (situated next to ring 1).
In addition to all entry fees £2 medical cover is payable per competitor.
Postal entries are open to competitors in the horse and pony classes but must be
received by 11 June 2012.

Entry fees and prize money
Horse and pony classes 1 – 22 and 24 – 31
Entry fee: £2.50 per class if received before 11 June 2012 or £3.50 on the field
Prize money: 1st £3.50, 2nd £3, 3rd £2.50 (prizes in kind may exceed cash value)
Rosettes to 6th place
Class 23 Fancy Dress:
Entry fee: £1.50. Prize money: 1st £3, 2nd £2, 3rd £1
Classes 32 – 39 Gymkhana:
Entry fee: £1.50. Prize money: 1st £1.50, 2nd £1, 3rd 75p
Family Dog and Terrier Shows
£1.50 entry fee payable in the ring on the day
Dog agility
£1 entry fee per round payable in the ring on the day
RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
1.
Entries will be taken as acceptance of the rules.
2.
The decision of the judge is final.
3.
Organisers cannot be held responsible for any accident, damage or injury to any rider, animal, spectator, property or
vehicle, howsoever caused.
4.
Hard hats meeting the current safety standards MUST be worn whilst mounted, and by all under 16s in in-hand classes at
all times. Body protectors are recommended.
5.
Objections must be lodged within 15 minutes of the incident concerned with a £20 deposit, returnable if the objection is
upheld or deemed valid by the panel.
6.
The organisers reserve the right to refuse any entrant or eliminate any animal considered over height or unsound in any
way and to cancel, amend or amalgamate classes.
7.
No horse/pony under 4 years old to compete under saddle and no horse/pony to shall be ill-treated in any way.
8.
NO GALLOPING on the field (except at the request of a judge). All exercising to be carried out having due regard for the
safety of others.
9.
No entry fee will be returned unless the class cancelled.
10.
Whips or spurs are not allowed in gymkhana events.
11.
Holders of Challenge Cups/Shields are responsible for their safe return by the specified date. No Cup/Shield can be won
outright.
12.
No competitor, or person connected with them in any way, shall argue with a steward or judge or give offence or use
abusive or threatening language or behave with incivility or contempt towards. Breach of any of these points may result in
elimination.
13.
ALL DOGS MUST BE KEPT ON LEADS AT ALL TIMES
Show jumping rules:
1.
Hard hats with straps which satisfy the current safety standards are to be worn at all times while competitors are mounted.
2.
Body protectors are recommended.
3.
Any item of saddlery, clothing or equipment (including whips and spurs) which in the opinion of the judge is thought to be
unsafe, inappropriate or harsh will not be allowed.
4.
Competitors are expected to dress correctly. Jackets may only be removed with the permission of the judge.
5.
Any fall in the arena at any time incurs elimination.
6.
Competitors must pass through the start and finish.
7.
Competitors must not begin until the bell is rung.
8.
The first round will not be timed and all clear rounds will jump off against the clock. If classes are running late the first
round may be timed, this will be clearly announced before the class begins.
9.
Penalties will be as follows:
Knockdown
4 faults
Disobedience
4 faults
3rd disobedience
Elimination
Fall of horse/rider
Elimination
10.
To lodge an objection a fee of £20 must be paid. The panel who hear the case will have full discretion on whether the
objection is valid and if the fee is refundable.
11.
No competitor, or person connected with them in any way, shall argue or use threatening language or behave with incivility
or contempt towards any judge, steward or official. Breech of this may result in the disqualification or elimination of the
competitor concerned.
12.
No competitor, or other person, shall ill-treat any horse or pony in any way. Breach of this may result in disqualification or
elimination of the competitor concerned.
