The day started off dry but quite cool, not that folk had time to worry about the weather! Ring 2 had a busy morning with a very good entry of ponies, and we thank the judge Mrs Di Chanin for her skills in sorting them! Well done to Ruby Merchant & Teddy for winning the Leading Rein Class for the Jim Stevens Cup for the third year in a row!

We pride ourselves on being a starting point for many young riders, as we normally run this show in June so pretty much kick the season off as an introduction for many. A good example of this was the Gill & Jacky Handy Pony/Hobby Horse ring which was kept really busy, providing fun for the riders and entertainment for spectators!
There were also good entries in the Clear Round Jumping Ring classes with good courses built to give young riders confidence.

The main ring finished a bit earlier than expected but meant there was time for some Children’s Sports before a fabulous Fancy Dress competition giving the judge, Mrs Brenda Coates a hard task with a large class of entries! Thank you to all the competitors for putting on such a lovely sight.

Then we moved on to the excitement of the Gymkhana Games which provided an entertaining afternoon for the spectators (who had arrived when the sun came out!) and a lot of fun for the riders! Well done to all the competitors.

We felt very fortunate to be holding our show, even at such a late date, having had to postpone it from June due to an outbreak of Equine Flu in our locality. Our thanks to our loyal Sponsors who enable us to make sufficient profit to benefit our local schools and village amenities - from the last show the main donations were given to Cutcombe School, the Moorland Hall and the Exmoor Health Hub - all huge assets to village life.
